We are happy to report that all contestants and chaperones have arrived safely in their homelands with many pleasant memories and educational experiences. They commended the Vincentian public and visitors whom they met during their various activities for their warmth, friendliness and generosity. For most of them, MISS CARIVAL 2016 was their first overseas pageant.
We are also pleased to advise that Marlon Roudette formerly of MATTAFIX and his seven member band Sophie Lord, Richard Bundy, Andrew Robertson, Ahir Ritesh, Gandalf Roudette- Muschamp, Roger Wagener and Ross Mc Groggan returned to the U.K. safely after a remarkable, sensational, captivating, spectacular, awesome performance on Friday July 1st 2016 that patrons thoroughly enjoyed.
A brief farewell ceremony was held on Tuesday July 5th 2016 at 9.15 a.m. at the VIP Lounge of the E.T Joshua airport. It was addressed by Chairperson of the Beauty Shows Committee, Mrs Cheryl Rodriguez, Honourable Cecil “Ces” Mc Kie, Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture, Mr Dennis Ambrose, Chairman of the Carnival Development Corporation and Mr Murray Bullock, Chairman of the National Lotteries Authority. Also present were Marlon’s Mom Mrs Vonnie Roudette and his sister Aiko, who flew in from the USA to be present at her brother’s performance on Friday night.
A plaque of appreciation and eight polo shirts with the CDC’s VINCY MAS tagline “THE HOTTEST CARNIVAL IN THE CARIBBEAN” along with programmes from MISS CARIVAL 2016 were presented to Marlon by the Chairman of the CDC, the Honourable Minister and Mr Murray Bullock.
Marlon expressed his profound gratitude for the invitation by the CDC and said that he was deeply moved by the outpouring of love and appreciation from all persons in SVG during the carnival season. He promised to return to SVG in the not too distant future.
Thank you. God bless you all.
