Three crowns up for grabs as Vincy Mas launches
06.05.2016 - Lyf Compton

Local artistes will go head to head at Carnival City, Victoria Park on Saturday May 7th as they compete for the chance to take home the first three crowns, and the money, up for grabs for Vincy Mas 2016.

So who will take home the crowns in the Best New Song Calypso competition, the Best New Song Ragga Soca competition and the Best New Song Soca competition? Your guess is as good as mine.

In the Best New Song Calypso Competition Kingsley 'Hero' Roberts will defend the crown he won in 2015. Last year he beat out his competitors with '3D woman' and this year he will try to do the same with 'Fourth test'. Giving Roberts stiff competition are Grantley 'Ipa' Constance with 'For Better or Worse' and
Cleo 'Cleopatra' Hendrickson with 'People would be nice'.

Aurella 'Kahalia' Beache who won the Best New Song Ragga Soca competition last year with her hit 'Do Supmn', will try to take the crown this year again with her new rendition 'Aye' but in the running for her crown are Kamara 'Keido' Foster with 'Frass' and Ozarie Matthews with 'Bend Ova'.

The Best New Song Soca competition will this year have a new winner as last year's winner, Orlando 'Syxx Krazii' Foster who also won in 2014 was not picked to take part in the action tomorrow Saturday May 7th at Carnival City, Victoria Park.

Syxx who won in 2014 with 'It's Carnival' and in 2015 with 'Celebrate Life' has made way for Aurella 'Kahailia' Beach doing her song 'Take over', Bernard 'Mentalis' John doing 'Hands Keep Jumping' and Kingsley 'Hero' Roberts doing 'Pressing Gas'.

Beache and Roberts will try to do the double no doubt, as Beache performs in both the Best New Song Ragga Soca competition and the Best New Song Soca competition while Roberts is competing in the Best New Song Calypso competition and the Best New Song Soca competition.
