MISS SVG 2009- Sat. May 30th 2009

With one day to go, Committee members and Contestants are putting the final touches to what will be a fantastic show on Sat. May 30th 2009. During the month of May our girls have been BUSY getting out to meet the media and the public from whom they received warm and encouraging responses. Thank you to the fans on the Leeward side down to Chateaubelair and on the Windward side up to Georgetown. Thank you to all in and around Kingstown, including the Secondary Schools, the SFCWSN and the Helping Hands Centre for your overwhelming response. We promise you we are not going to disappoint you.
This week there was practice on the stage at Victoria Park, which is ready. Visit the Hon. P.M. and members of Cabinet on Wed. May 27th at 12.00 noon. A general meeting with the Technical Team at the CDCÕs Conf. Room at 4.30 p.m. on Wed. May 27th 2009 and dress rehearsal today Friday May 29th from 2.00 p.m. We have had to change the date of rehearsal from Thursday to Friday due to the Calypso tents at the Park.
The show will commence at 8.00 p.m. with the National Anthem By Sandrine Bristol ÉÉ.(see programme attached).
We are promising a tightly run, exciting and entertaining show with a finish time of not later than midnight.
Let me take this opportunity to invite all ladies to get that ÒsassyÓ outfit and come out to a lovely evening and the gentlemen - give the ladies a much deserved evening out. Life is short, let us relax and unwind, laugh a lot and have fun. I cannot wait to hear Nikki Crosby!!
I implore you contestants to ENJOY your performances. It will soon be over and you will miss all the running around and preparations. Next week you will be bored and wish you had something to do. We trust that you have had a rewarding experience, that you have gained a sense of self-empowerment, self Ðworth and self Ðconfidence, that you will focus on the positives and your eyes have been opened to the abundance of simple joys and daily mercies, that you will cherish the privilege you have had, that you will take with you what you learnt from this pageant: discipline, self- respect, respect for others, time management and the skills you acquired, walking, standing, communication skills of speaking, listening, sitting like a lady, grooming, posture and social graces to name some. Rom. 5: 3-5 tells us that Òtribulation produces perseverance, character, hope and confidence by the Holy Spirit.Ó
Finally, a sincere thank you to all contestants, chaperones, Committee members, the Co- ordinator of Shows and his Comm. The CEO and his Staff, the Board of Directors of the CDC, members of the media, the SVG Motorcycles Assn. Candyman, Fugitive, Chad Minors and his team of drivers for providing vehicles for the motorcade, and last, but the most important person, the Hon. Minister for her undying support and encouragement and all who have assisted in one way or another for their co-operation and hard work.
We have a date on Sat. May 30th 8.00 p.m. at the Victoria Park. Thank you and God bless us all.
